When a LinkedIn thread turned nasty

Yesterday, I asked our invisible friend to assess whether a comment I read on LinkedIn was inappropriate, or should have been flagged by moderators (I was thrown when a post about innovation suddenly turned nasty, so I guess I was doing a bit of self-therapy).

It came back with a pretty chunky explanation of the strategic use of language by bad-faith actors.

So I guess I learned something yesterday. If you’re the sort of person that doesn’t believe our creator imbued us with certain rights, and that we were all created equal, then you have a number of techniques (with enhanced scale of distribution thanks to social media) to get your abuse out there while skirting moderation and reactions by silly woke people like me…

Gotta say, if a stupid AI can read a post and break it down accurately as racism/abuse/hate-speech then why can’t Linkedin filter this language off the platform?
