“If individuals use social networking sites/apps and advertise their security clearance (e.g. the level of clearance they hold), they are putting their self, colleagues and national security at risk. Individuals must remove these details from their social networking profiles immediately.”

The above from these pretty clear instructions: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/62e110b88fa8f56499111699/ISN_2022-06_National_Security_Vetting_and_Social_Networking_Sites.pdf

So, question: If a total stranger (a recruiter, say) encourages someone to say they have a given level of clearance (because they say clearance is a requirement of a role) is either party putting national security at risk? Asking because I’m seeing quite a lot of roles advertised as ‘clearance mandatory’ which does seem a bit iffy?
