So are ‘hungry’ and ‘lazy’ valid dimension endpoints? Does it always follow that when you’re less hungry you become more lazy?
I don’t think so, of course it’s way more complicated than that.
Just read a post by a recruiter colleague who is bemoaning the use of AI in recruitment. He mentions all the ways applicants can ‘cheat’ by using LLM-based products.
He’s not wrong, we’re undermining our own processes with this, but I was wondering if we should make a disctinction between lazy and hungry?
Are there folk out there using LLMs to stretch themselves, to do more, to do better etc?
Are there folk out there using LLMs to save on effort and scale their stuff withought putting in the miles or the craft?
As I write this, I’m thinking this is not a helpful dimension, and actually I should probably just delete this post.
But…
I think LLMs can be a tool for good, they can transform how organisations serve their user’s needs. Done right, I believe they can promote increased inclusion…
I guess like with most complicated things, narratives can take on a life of their own and we so often end up in pretty dark situations. I hope we can handle this change better, our batting average hasn’t exactly wonderful so far…
