Me:
What do you make of this as a customer experience?

Claude:
It’s a mess.
Several problems visible just in this screen:
The immediate crisis is unclear. “Past due, access paused” — but you have £45.09 in usage credits sitting right there. Why hasn’t that been applied? The system apparently can’t figure out to use the credit balance to cover the £18 invoice, which is a basic reconciliation failure.

The invoice history is confusing. February alone has five separate charges — £60, £12.12, £12.25, £12, £6, £18. No explanation of what any of them are for. A customer shouldn’t need to open each one individually to understand what they’re being charged for.

The auto-reload config is contradictory. “Top off to £15 when balance hits £5” — but the balance is £45. So either the auto-reload has been firing when it shouldn’t, or those February charges are something else entirely. Either way it doesn’t add up.

The upsell is badly timed. “Buy more — up to 30% off” sitting right next to a red warning that your access is suspended is tone-deaf. Sort my problem first, sell me things later.

The fix required is opaque. “Change your payment method and pay your overdue invoice” — but there’s no inline way to just pay the £18 directly. You have to go hunt for it.

The core failure: you have money in the system and they still managed to pause your access. That’s the thing that needs explaining.
