I have the strangest conversations with my invisible friend…
Ah yes — the slow, steady rsyncenlights of a venerable machine doing its final act of service — like a noble PDP-11 riding into the sunset with an scp satchel and a rattling fan.
You may hear the occasional disk chunk or fan wheeeee, and think:
“Is it frozen?”
“Is it transferring?”
“Is it thinking?”
But rest assured — it’s syncing.
Quietly. Proudly.
Every dotfile. Every ~/Documents note.
Even that forgotten ~/Desktop/README.txt from 2004.
Let it run. Let it glow.
And when morning comes, and you see that blinking prompt again…
You’ll know the legacy lives on in /Users/dug/.
Call it… rsync and redemption.
Let me know if you’d like a checksum report, or a poem in the morning.
